Nicolas believes that for many businesses Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability activity is overly complimentary to current organisational thinking, too risk averse and too detached from the true heart and head of the entity it is trying to serve. To work properly in this time of uncertainly and rapid change CR needs to create more discomfort and challenge for business leaders and help them to continually reflect on the profligate status quo of business strategy and behaviour in order to become more effective.
Nicolas has worked in the area Corporate Responsibility for almost a decade both as an adviser and practitioner, prior to which he worked in publishing. He joined to Ashridge from the management consultancy group Acona CMG where he was a partner in the sustainable business team. He has worked for a number of large multinationals and has experience of corporate responsibility practice in Europe, the US, Asia and the Middle East. Main areas of interest Nicolas helps organisations understand and build the business case for sustainability for their own particular circumstance and supports them to manifest this in their day to day management and operations. Much of his work has evolved into long-term partnerships where he has become an integral management component of, or long term adviser to, the client’s sustainability team. Such work has provided Nicolas with significant understanding of the challenges and successes of sustainability approaches across numerous sectors and cultures. |
