Mavropoulos Antonis is vice-president of the Hellenic Solid Waste Association as well as CEO of EPEM SA environmental consultants. He also works as a signor researcher at waste management issues with the National Technical University of Athens, Greece.  He has worked in Egypt, Morocco, Albania, Serbia, Turkey, Hungary, Romania, Bosnia, Bulgaria and Greece. His 15-year experiences in waste management include landfill design, environmental impact assessment, rehabilitation, risk assessment, feasibility studies and a broad knowledge in waste planning and developing countries issues.  Last years his work has been focused at waste treatment issues,  recycling and the social context of waste management.
